Over a thousand years ago, sumo wrestling originated as a Shinto ritual to entertain the gods. It is a sacred Japanese tradition that embodies great strength and resilience. When designing these stickers, I thought of the sumo wrestler as a visual for nana korobi, ya oki, 七転び八起き . . . literally “seven falls, eight rises”. I have certainly fallen more than seven times! I hope these vinyl stickers will remind you that strength and determination can overcome any adversity.
