This very rare pair of earrings is a testament to the enduring beauty of hand craftsmanship. 70+ years later, their allure and physical integrity are beyond compare.

Damascene ware is believed to have arrived in Japan via Damascus about 2000 years ago. Japanese craftsman used an oxidized steel foundation along with 24k gold and sterling silver plating to create their incredible, intricate designs.

I had no hand in these artistic creations other than stopping in my tracks when I came upon their beauty ... I only gently cleaned them to reveal their artistic luster.

• materials: oxidized steel foundation, 24k gold plate, sterling silver plate

• dimensions: approximately 33mm long x 20mm wide
